ANI-MAGIC 2006

Location:Best Western Antelope Valley Inn; Lancaster, CA

This convention is the bomb. Living in such a crowded and culturally
aware area such as Southern California, it is difficult to not get swallowed
up by the sheer number of attendees at conventions. Held in Lancaster just
after con season, this convention attracts only the hardcore cosplayers;
which is honestly a wonderful thing. You’re able to meet people and talk
with them in a manner that is just downright impossible at other conventions.
An example, even though I had heard about InuAshley
and seen her at cons since Anime Expo 2005, Ani-magic was the first time
I was actually able to go up to introduce myself and talk with her.
Who are all those Pokemons? Why, that is the Justus League! The Justus
League is an awesome brother-sister duo (brother Justus and sister Grace)
who throw some of the coolest parties at conventions. In the picture: Brian,
Sarah Skratulia, Ryan, and Justus. These guys trashed their
hotel room so hard, that the hotel charged them an additional 100
dollar cleaning fee! (Just to give an example: aside from the Pokemon fur
stuck to all of the carpet, there was a bunch of alcohol spilled on the mattress…oh,
and a few paint stains). Anyway, this group made the con twice as
enjoyable for us and many others! Many thanks go out to them.
